CUSTOM ROCK CLIMBING

Do you dream of soaring desert walls or towering granite peaks? Climbing is the name of the game in the summer and fall. Let me put the rope up so you can enjoy the climbing!

America's Byzantine permit system severely limits an individual guide's ability to operate as an independent contractor. For now, you can join me in one of the following two locations below.

SIERRA NEVADA

This is the place for the finest granite climbing the USA has to offer. There is sport and multi pitch climbing; the Eastern Sierra is home to the Owens River Gorge and the Buttermilks, world-class destinations in their own right.

What really sets this place apart, are the towering peaks of the High Sierra. There are too many classic climbs to list; Mt Whitney's East Ridge, Mt Russell's Fishhook Arete, and the Red Dihedral on The Incredible Hulk are just a few of the mega classics.

I am based out of the Eastern Sierra from June until September. Trips are run through my employer and permit holder, Sierra Mountain Center. My schedule starts to fill by May.

RED ROCK

Red Rock Canyon is a vast and beautiful wilderness, in stark contrast to the neon city of Las Vegas. The city limits encroach to within 5 minutes of the canyon entrance. Rainbow-colored sandstone rises high above the desert floor. Cool, spring-fed canyons host bighorn sheep, and frogs, and can provide respite to climbers, even in the late summer.

The climbing is otherworldly. Sheer and blank from below, the walls can look unclimbable, but the harsh desert winds have etched edges, jugs, and chicken-heads all over the rock. Pitch after pitch are stacked on top of each other, creating long routes at moderate grades. Red Rock has no peer for the sheer number and density of approachable routes.

Permitting constraints mean that I will only be able to guide for a specific period of time each year. Check back later for more information.
